Day 1: Hoi An - Hue (50 km biking)
Our vehicle picks you up at your hotel in Hoi An for a short 30 minute transfer to Thuan Phuoc bridge, where we start our ride. The initial section is flat for 15 kilometers and gives you a chance to warm up before the 10 kilometers climb up to the top of Hai Van pass. This pass is 500 meters high and its name translates as “Pass of the Ocean Clouds”. The pass is part of the Annamite Mountain Range and is considered one of the most beautiful in the country.
After a brief rest at the top our hard work is rewarded by a fantastic 10 kilometer section of downhill riding to Lang Co beach. Ride at a moderate pace so you can enjoy the fantastic views of the lagoon from above. At the base of the pass we stop for a picnic lunch of sandwiches, fresh fruits, veggies and baked goods. After lunch the ride is pleasant and flat for 15 kilometers as we skirt the rim of Lang Co lagoon on our way into town. After we check into the hotel the remainder of the afternoon is free.
Day 2: Hue Biking (60 km biking)
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel. A short 20 minute transfer takes us from Lang Co to the bottom of Phuoc Tuong pass where we start riding. This section of riding rolls through small hills, villages, and cajuput forest for about 10 kilometers. We continue riding through small beach villages with the road totally covered by bamboo and casuarina forest, sheltering our ride from the heat.
We stop briefly at the Ghost City where traditional customs of the local people of Central Vietnam are played out. And finally we complete the biking portion of our trip with a ride across a rice paddy to our pick up location. From here the transfer to Hue is only about 15 kilometers. After checking into your hotel you have the option of going on a 2 hour excursion in the afternoon to see the Imperial Citadel. We also offer an optional additional day biking around Hue to some of the major sites of interest. Inquire for details.
